In terms of the second part of the digital literacy, I chose the AI pathway as I thought that it would complement and broaden my knowledge in regards to AI, one of the top topics in our digital literacy course. Whilst the course was interesting, I thought it would be more revolved about tips and tricks to use when engineering prompts. The main takeaway from this course for me was the fact that simple fine-tuning as per the examples in the lectures, can yield totally different results. Moreover the fact that i can create my own bot and pairing that with the few shot method, i can have a bot that does exactly what i want the way i want (can be utilized for specific tasks). One of the downsides i faced during the course was the fact that i wasnt able to access DALLE or midjourney and when coming to the challenge i tried using an AI called stable diffusion XL on poe.com however, the images generated werent in alignment with the prompt. I kept trying to re-engineer my prompt with no result. So in order to check once again, i used the same prompt used by the lecturer and turns out the AI tool had the issue.

When asking ChatGPT, Llama and Claude-instant to write me a blogpost about the LinkedIn course i took in the AI pathway different tools had different responses to the same prompt. Whilst both claude and llama put basic titles, chatgpt came up with a more interesting title. Moreover, both claude and llama mentioned the name of the lecturer. Generally i felt that claude gave a very generic response and assumed a lot of things that werent true such as the fact that i took this course a month ago and that there were very creative image prompts where Ronnie walked us through a lot of complicated poster ideas which wasnt true. Secondly, when asking all 3 AI tools the same prompt regarding the supermarket price of green apples in london, chatgpt simply replied that it doesnt have access to the latest prices and recommended that i visit supermarkets in london to discover the price. On the other hand, whilst Llama didnt give me a price range, it suggested ways to find the price such as price comparison websites, names of supermarkets in london etc. Lastly, Calude gave me a price range of 1-4 pounds, the fact that budget supermarkets like Aldi may range between 1-2 pounds whilst large chains such as Tesco may range between 2-3 pound per kg. Moreover, it told me that prices are based on numerous fators such as location (central london is more expensive), seasonality (identified the correct peak season for apples), and that different varieties have different prices. Lastly when prompting the different AI tools with an arabic prompt about how to make a software update for an iphone 14, all 3 understood the prompt and gave me correct instructions however, Llama gave me the directions in English whilst both Claude and ChatGPT gave replied in arabic.
The article i chose to read from the list was Poe’s new desktop app lets you use all the AI chatbots in one place. This article was very short but I wanted to read more about it as we had mentioned poe.com in class but i never used it as i felt that it had a bad UI. Moreover, i had to use it in the step before reading the article. However, after reading the article i not only downloaded the app on my computer, but also on my phone and created an account. I then used poe in this assignment. Whilst i still believe that it still doesnt have the best UI, im thinking about buying a premium plan as i feel that it really is a bargain that will enable a plethora of AI tools. Moreover, as the article mentioned, i believe that poe.com or some similar platform may be a universal one-stop shop for AI tools.
